Houses of Newfoundland

' These houses are situated on a busy street in St. John's. We loved to watch for boldness in colours and style. And there is much to observe. Is this a measuring stick to the personalities, characters of the people? A few days ago I read an article in Saltscapes, by a professor at a Halifax university stating that Atlantic people are the most content and happy in Canada.

Hi Marilyn-
What a treasure trove of memories you have preserved through these pictures - excellent as usual! Love the color of those houses...but we, over on the west coast, are all into those "taupy" colors that everyone else has. I'm glad Nature provides us with such an abundant, staggering array of gorgeous colors. Interesting observation regarding fog...brings to mind a song I learned long ago a part of which reflects on God's sometimes seemingly harsh treatment of His children..."Behind a frowning countenance He hides a smiling face." Thanks for all the interesting historic pointers...very cool. We can see that you are keeping well, happy, and fit...all the while filling up on new experiences which enrich your lives and which you share so well with others. Thanks dear friends.
Kudos to Jerry and Lisa on those beautiful grandchildren! Very special.
Love to read your blog...
