Here is a community (barangay) that is a 7 minute walk from Andrey and Jen's house. So many people live in dwellings such as these.
Cebu and the Philippines is a land of great contrasts. Lou and I are enjoying a latte at one of the Starbucks just five minutes' drive from Jen and Andrey's house.
Andrey staying connected with his workplace from home. Jenifer enjoying one of her favorite things, kept for special occasions such as Christmas and new year times.Next time we publish a post will be in 2009. Happy New Year! Will keep you up to date on our celebrations.

Well, we're about 9.5 hours away from 2009 and I've got the portzelkys on the go. But first, we want to join in the Happy New Year wishes for you, Marilyn and Lou and Andrey and Jen of course. Love your pictures. The contrasts are amazing - Starbucks has made great inroads wherever possible and poverty exists alongside - over there but I'm guessing over here in the West as well - not as much or as obvious.
